Privacy

Updated October 25, 2026. This policy covers the NextLight ChatGPT integration operated by NextLight.

What is processed

The service receives tool arguments such as a city name, country or region, approximate coordinates, time zone and requested time. It does not request your device location, street address, contacts, account login or the rest of your conversation.

Coordinates are rounded to 0.1 degrees before calculations, source requests and links. City lookup first uses a local GeoNames index. For towns and names missing from that index, the city name and optional country/region are sent to Photon (photon.komoot.io), an OpenStreetMap geocoder. We do not send device coordinates, user IP addresses or conversation text to Photon. Bounded city-result caches last up to one hour.

Sources and hosting

Rounded coordinates are sent to the U.S. National Weather Service for public weather and alert context. NOAA SWPC provides a global aurora grid without your city being sent. The NextLight foliage service is queried only for public availability metadata.

Cloudflare hosts this service and processes connection information, including IP addresses, to deliver and secure requests. Our application does not write request bodies or user profiles to persistent storage. Cloudflare Worker application logging is disabled. Hashed IP-derived rate counters are short-lived, per-location counters used to limit requests, not identify or track people. Infrastructure-level processing remains subject to Cloudflare policies.

Public weather responses are cached temporarily in bounded memory. No advertising trackers, analytics cookies, mailing lists or reminder subscriptions are created.
